Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a fit last?
A standard single bike fit lasts 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the level of adjustment necessary.
Can I bring more than one bike?
We do not have capacity for multiple bike assessments within one standard session. Please contact us to discuss your requirements prior to booking if you have more than one bike that needs assessment.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We have availability for three fit sessions per week, so please anticipate a wait time of 4-6 weeks, longer during our peak season of April to July.
What should I bring?
Cycling kit, bike shoes and a bike together with any bike specific risers, spare saddles or stems that you feel may help with adjustments. If you are not bringing your bike and are being fit on the size cycle please also bring your pedals (we have Look Keo and Shimano SPD in the studio).
What should I wear?
Tight fitting, lycra cycling or triathlon kit is ideal. To properly assess the riding position it is important to track various landmarks on the torso whilst pedalling.
How hard will I be exercising?
During the fit process we do not anticipate you doing any sustained effort. If, during the fit, you are feeling too warm we have a fan to keep you at a controlled temperature. All of the fit analysis is done at an easy to moderate intensity.
Are there changing facilities?
Yes, there is a changing area and toilet at the studio. We do not have facilities for showering but hopefully you won’t be working hard enough on the bike to need one!
Is there parking?
The studio is located in a residential area and there is plenty of free parking at the studio, both on the road outside or on our driveway.
Where do I go on arrival?
Look for the studio which is located in the garage to the right of the main building. The doors are painted black with two circular ‘porthole’ windows. There is an entry buzzer on these doors.
How early should I arrive?
Promptness is always appreciated but there is no need to arrive early for the session as ample set up time is included in the booking. If you do happen to arrive earlier than 10 or 15 minutes before your appointment slot then there are plenty of great coffee shops on Teddington High Street.
What payment methods are there?
All usual forms of payment, including major credit and debit cards, are accepted.
What if I don't have a bike or want to purchase a new bike?
We have a precision Exit size cycle and will fit you on that using exactly the same process as a standard fit. Following the session we can provide you with all the measurements you need to make an informed purchase. We can also help with recommending bike shops who may be able to source the perfect frame for you.
What if I need new products as a result of the fit session?
We have a range of items available for purchase including bars, stems, cleats, shims, wedges and saddles. We are equally happy, however, to provide you with the necessary information to purchase any required items from your preferred shop or website.
Do I need to bring any tools with me?
The studio is equipped with a full range of Park Tools allen keys, a precision torque wrench and all other necessary tools to adjust your bike.
What if I have to cancel or postpone?
If you could give us as much notice as possible so that we can endeavour to fill your time slot. Cancellation within 24 hours may be subject to a fee.
I am a member of a club, can I get a discount?
We have endeavoured to keep our prices to a minimum and remain competitive with UK fitters offering a similar level of service and experience, therefore we are unable to offer any discounts at this time.
What is a Retul fit?
A Retul fit is a dynamic fit using motion capture technology. On arrival, we will gauge your level of experience, goals and injury history before performing a simple biomechanical analysis to assess your cycling specific strength, stability and flexibility. Shoes and cleats will be checked and adjusted as required. Following a short warm up, 8 anatomical markers will be placed carefully on each side of your body in order to communicate with the camera system. Captures from both sides will be taken, analysed and appropriate adjustments made to your position. Knee tracking will be assessed and advice will be given on pedalling efficiency. On completion of the fit process, digital measurements of the bike will be captured and recorded. PDF files of all data together with before and after images will be emailed to you, usually within 24 hours of your fit session.
